20th century furniture company. Established c.1938 by Erwine (b.1909) and Estelle (1915-98) Laverne. Set up design studios in Oyster Bay, NY. Initially produced fabrics and wallcoverings. In 1950s moved studios to New York City, and began designing more of their own furniture. Commissioned work by Katavalos, Littell and Kelly from 1949-55. Later became Laverne International.
