Photographer. Born in London. 1970 Relocated to New York. Studied with Diane Arbus. After Arbus's death, became the exclusive printer for her estate. Specializes in start-up publication projects; has appeared in or shot the first covers for Wired, Paper, Vue, Spy and Colors. Work has appeared in most major magazines, including Esquire, Interview, The New York Times Magazine, Vogue, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker. Faculty member, Maine Photographic Workshops, Rockport, Maine. Publication: "1000 on 42nd Street", Powerhouse Books, 2000. Responding to a suggestion by Tibor Kalman to cover the construction fence of the 42nd Street Development Project with poster size portraits of people passing by Times Square, Selkirk, using a handheld camera, took 1000 mug shots on 42nd Street in fewer than two days.
